3 Part Technique - (1) To Combat the lapel grip - aka the bikini - from half guard, Mick initiate the knee cut to prevent the opponent controlling the leg also. One the leg is free the spins back towards the legs to put strain on the grip and prevent the opponent following up to the single leg. (2) This time, in order to counter the bikini, Mick backsteps and looks to complete the pass on the opposite side. (3) Using the back step again, Mick folds the legs down, then steps back across in quarter guard and swims in the underhook and re-enters the knee cut to blast through the grip and pass.
